Anne from Wrap My Baby contacted me to ask for a revamp of her website. She was running her site on a free blogging platform, but wanted to move to something where she had more control over the look and feel. I had already designed a logo for her some months ago, so we used this as a basis for the site design. Anne was already familiar with using WordPress so it was natural to use this as the back end for her new design.

1: Tell me about your business – who are you and what do you do?
I am a Dutch national who came over to be with my now husband. I am a babywearing/carrying consultant and educator. I live in Norfolk with my husband and our three children and teach people about slings and carrying both in the local area and through online resources.
2: Why did you decide to run your own business?
I kind of rolled into it after buying an existing related business in 2008. I was a stay at home mum and it all happened at the right time whilst still allowing for me to stay at home with my children.
3: When did you get started?
WrapMyBaby started in 2010 when I sold the sling shop Mama Natura as I needed another name to run my classes and consultations under. I had been running the shop since 2008 and the Natural Mamas forum ( together with Catherine!) since 2008 as well.
4: What advice would you give to someone starting their own business?
Go for it! Recognise your strenghts and your weaknesses but most of all have fun! Being self employed especially as a WAHM does not generally make you a millionaire and as most of us are balancing the needs of our family with the needs of our business you need to love what you are doing!
